All disease begins in the gut – and so does your health

The last few months have been a whirlwind of filming for our new movie “Fuel Your Health” set to be released in Spring 2018.

Camera man Jeff & I just made it back from Iowa City to interview Dr. Terry Wahls.

Terry’s dietary approach is unique because her protocol involves high fat + high fiber from plants.  She calls this the best of both worlds, and she’s having phenomenal success with her patients.

Consider that our ancestors were eating a tremendous amount of fiber.  Perhaps 100 grams or more per day!

Yikes, nowadays we eat around 15 grams or less ~ that’s a massive shift.

Interestingly, this fiber not only feeds us, but perhaps more importantly feeds the ecosystem of microbes in our gut.

And these gut bugs seem to communicate with our genes & may hold the key to promoting health or disease.

This message is so cutting edge and also so ancient.  Thousands of years ago, the father of medicine Hippocrates stated that “all disease begins in the gut.”

So, ONE powerful strategy to fuel your health & keep your gut microbiome happy is to up your daily fiber intake from plants.   Dive into that big, delicious salad today!

In the wise words of Dr. Terry Wahls: “All you need to do is give your body what it needs and remove what is poisoning it.”

Here’s to making 2018 the healthiest year ever!

Peace,

Drew
